Which population and use does the label cover?
For adults with established cardiovascular disease and obesity or overweight, the label covers cardiovascular-risk reduction with injection or tablets. Both formulations cover weight management in adults with obesity, or overweight with a weight-related condition. Injection additionally covers weight management in children aged twelve years and older with obesity, and noncirrhotic MASH with F2–F3 fibrosis in adults. The MASH indication has accelerated approval requiring confirmation of clinical benefit; it does not apply to the tablets. Label: 1 ↗
Which safety limits matter?
The boxed warning reports thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents, with uncertain human relevance. Contraindications include personal or family medullary thyroid carcinoma, MEN 2 and hypersensitivity. Warnings address pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, hypoglycemia with insulin or insulin secretagogues, kidney injury from volume depletion, severe gastrointestinal reactions, retinopathy complications, increased heart rate and aspiration during anesthesia or deep sedation.
